What are we doing about COVID-19?
The Future Scholars have recognized the egregious impact that COVID-19 has had on the SRVUSD community and has decided to take some steps in bringing some light to those experiencing the first hand impacts of the pandemic. Our nurses, physicians, and hospital staff work with heart and endurance for our community. They are the people quite literally putting their lives at risk, working on the front lines, to fight this pandemic and keep our community safe. As we all sit in quarantine, The Future Scholars wants these heroes to know that our community thanks them. And that is why we have made the decision to use earnings from the month of March to show our appreciation for our local hospital: San Ramon Regional Medical Center. We show this appreciation by providing dinner to various parts of the hospital; the Emergency Room, the cleaning staff, the Definitive Observation Unit, the Pharmacy, the Intensive Care Unit, and more.
Another step The Future Scholars plans to take includes the following. As many first responders and hospital staff are working around the clock to make sure our community is staying safe and healthy, we would like to make sure that their kids at home are staying busy while their parents are helping battle the COVID-19 pandemic. As a foundation dedicated to preserving high quality education within the community, we recognize what these heroes are doing for us and would like to give back. With that The Future Scholars is excited to announce that we will be providing a free hour of tutoring a week until mid May for the kids/students of first responders, nurses, and physicians. We will be holding these sessions through online platforms like zoom/google meets. Please contact nedabahrani@gmail.com for any questions, concerns, and to sign up! We look forward to being able to better the community through our platform.
